Mind and Disposition.
Great anxiety of the mind, with fear of death.
Angry over trifles.
Head.
Vertigo (in the morning) with nausea.
Headache in the morning on waking, with pressing pains.
[5] Painful sensitiveness of the vertex every morning.
Pulsation in the head when raising it.
Stinging headache.
Eyes.
Staring look with the eyes wide open.
The left eye is much smaller than the right eye ; the upper eyelid is swollen.
[10] Contraction of the pupils.
Nose.
Nostrils painful as if sore, with violent coryza (in the morning).
Humid eruptions under the nose, with stinging-itching.
Face.
Changeable expression and color of the face.
During the heat redness of the face, followed by paleness, without coldness.
[15] Distorted countenance, with reel checks, and without thirst.
Humid, spreading eruption on the upper lip.
Black, cracked lips and black teeth.
Mouth and Throat.
Open, dry mouth.
Accumulation of much viscid mucus in the mouth.
[20] Burning in the mouth and throat.
Dryness in the throat.
Stomach and Abdomen.
Insatiable appetite.
Longing for acids.
Thirst for cold water, but the dyspnoea compels her to take but a sip at a time.
[25] The food tastes bitter, especially the bread or it tastes sweet, especially soup and meat.
Constant nausea in the pit of the stomach, alternating with pain, as for diarrhoea in the abdomen.
Pressure in the stomach, as from a stone.
Nausea during the morning cough.
Cutting pain in the abdomen, as from flatulence.
[30] Painful sensitiveness of the abdomen and the region of the bladder.
Frequent discharge of very fetid flatulence.
Stool and Anus.
Painless constipation.
Diarrhoea, stool very offensive ; watery (during the measles) or looking black.
Urinary Organs.
Frequent urging to urinate, with profuse discharge of pale (limpid) urine.
[35] Continuous, painful pressure on the bladder.
Inability to retain the urine.
Respiratory Organs.
Moaning breathing, with the mouth open.
Wheezing breathing.
Shortness of breath from every exertion, especially when ascending.
[40] Difficulty of breathing, with stitches in the chest when breathing and coughing.
Heaviness on the chest ; congestion of blood to the chest.
Pneumonia or pleurisy.
The pain in the chest is worse in the morning.
Cough in the morning, with copious expectoration of thin, frequently reddish-colored mucus.
[45] Dry cough morning and night.
Cough caused by tingling in the chest ; from drinking something cold ; from every exertion.
Cough with stitches in the sides of the chest ; pain in the abdomen ; sensation of internal heat ; dyspnoea ; headache ; pressure on the bladder and involuntary spirting out of the urine.
The morning cough, with even difficult expectoration, is much more severe and causes more suffering than the dry evening cough.
Especially suitable in pneumonia after blood-letting.
Back and Neck.
[50] Stiffness of the neck.
Perspiration in the arm-pit.
Extremities.
Upper. Convulsive twitching of the arms ; cold hands.
Lower. Convulsive twitching of the legs.
Cold foot-sweat.
[55] Perspiration only on the toes.
Generalities.
Dull rheumatic pains ; worse when exercising, relieved while at rest.
Convulsive twitchings and motions of the limbs ; convulsions.
Frequent yawning without sleepiness.
Restless sleep, with much tossing about.
Fever.
[60] Pulse small and slow, slightly hard.
Chill internally at night, with external heat.
Chilliness towards the evening when walking, not while sitting.
Heat, dry, burning, internally predominates.
Heat of the whole body, with cold hands and feet, with aversion to be uncovered.
[65] Great sensation of heat in the body in the afternoon and evening, generally with cold feet.
Whenever he uncovers himself during the heat he suffers from chilliness and pain.
Perspiration wanting, even during the violent burning heat.
Skin.
Soreness in the bends of the joints.
Eruptions like itch, with burning-itching.
[70] Gangrene.
Conditions.
Most complaints are worse in the morning and from motion.
