Mind and Disposition.
Great anguish in the evening, almost driving one to commit suicide.
Over-sensitiveness and irritability, with quick, hasty speech.
The slightest cause irritates him and makes him extremely vehement.
Dejected, sad, with inclination to shed tears.
Head.
[5] Faint giddiness when riding in a carriage or when shaking the head, with headache and obscuration of sight.
Boring headache from without to within, in the right temple ; on one side of the head ; the root of the nose, when waking from sleep ; aggravated by motion and stooping.
Pressure in the head, semi-lateral, as from a plug or dull nail, at night and when waking in the morning ; aggravated when moving the eyes ; and on stooping ; relieved when rising and from binding the head up tight.
Aching in the forehead, like a boil, from midnight till morning.
Lancinating headache ; better when walking in the open air.
[10] Sense of swashing in the head.
Boring headache in the root of the nose, every forenoon.
Morning headache, aggravated from every contusion.
Humid eruption over the whole head, feeling sore, of fetid smell ; itching violently on rising in the morning ; burning and feeling sore on scratching.
Boils on the head and neck, very sore on contact and when lying on them.
[15] The head is bent backwards, with swelling below the larynx, with violent pulsation of the carotid arteries ; and rattling breathing (in croup).
Falling off of the hair, with very sore, painful pimples and large bald spots on the scalp ; sensitiveness of the scalp to contact, with burning and itching in the morning after rising (after abuse of mercury).
Burning-itching on the scalp, from the forehead to the back part of the head.
Cold, clammy perspiration, smelling sour, principally on the head and face, with aversion to be uncovered ; worse from the least exercise and during the night ; better from warmth and when at rest.
Nodosities ; on the head, sore to contact ; better from covering the head warm and from perspiration.
[20] Disposition to catch cold when uncovering the head.
Eyes.
Inflammation of the eyes and eyelids ; they are sore to the touch, with lachrymation.
Pressure in the eyes, as from a foreign body (sand).
The eyes are protruded.
Spasmodically closed eyelids (at night).
[25] Photophobia.
Ulcers and spots on the cornea.
Obscuration of sight when reading.
The eyes ache from the bright light of day, when moving them.
The objects appear to be red.
Ears.
[30] Darting pain in the ears.
Itching of the external ear.
Discharge of fetid pus from the ear.
Scurfy eruption on and behind the ear.
Whizzing and throbbing in the ears, with hardness of hearing.
[35] Detonation in the ear when blowing the nose.
Increase of cerumen.
Nose.
Inflammation (redness and heat) of the nose.
The nose feels sore, as if bruised.
Sore pain on the dorsum of the nose when touching it.
[40] Very sensitive smell.
Coryza, with inflammatory swelling of the nose, which feels as sore as a boil.
Face.
Heat and fiery redness of the face.
Erysipelatous swelling of the face.
Yellow color of the face, with blue border around the eyes.
[45] Pain in the bones ; of the face on touching them.
Boils on the lips, chin and neck, very painful to the touch.
Eruption in the corners of the mouth.
Itching around the mouth.
Ulcer in the corner of the mouth.
[50] Eruption in the face, scurfy, very painful to the touch.
Itching pimples on the chin.
The middle of the lower lip becomes chapped.
Sore and smarting pimple in the vermilion border of the upper lip.
Mouth and Throat.
The gums and mouth are very painful to the touch and bleed readily.
[55] Toothache worse in the warm room ; increased when pressing the teeth against one another.
Looseness of the teeth.
The hollow teeth feel too long and painful.
Ulcer on the gums and in the mouth, with a base resembling lard.
The tip of the tongue is very painful and feels sore.

Scraping in the throat when swallowing saliva.
Hawking up of mucus.
Swelling of the tonsils and glands of the neck.

Longing for acids, wine, sour and strong-tasting substances.
Unusual hunger in the forenoon).
More thirst than hunger ; much thirst.
Aversion to fat.
[70] Distention of the pit of the stomach, compelling one to loosen the clothing.
Burning in the stomach.
Heaviness and pressure in the stomach after moderate eating.
Pressure in the stomach, as if lead were in it.
Spasmodic contraction in the abdomen.

The urine is passed slowly, with difficulty ; drops out perpendicular.
Sharp, burning urine, corroding the prepuce.

Inflammation and redness of the orifice of the urethra.
Discharge of mucus from the urethra.

Sexual Organs.
Men. Itching of the penis (glans, fraenulum).
Ulcers like chancres on the prepuce.
Humid soreness on the genitals, scrotum, and the folds between the thigh and the scrotum.
Diminished sexual instinct. (Feeble erections).
[105] Discharge of the prostatic juice during the hard stool and after urinating.
Women. Congestion of blood to the uterus.
Menstrual discharge delayed and diminished.
Discharge of blood between the times of menstruation.
Itching nipples.
[110] Scirrhous ulcer on the mamma, with stinging-burning of the edges, smelling like old cheese.
Respiratory Organs.
Rattling breathing (during deep).
Dry, hoarse cough.
Titillation, as from dust in the throat, inducing cough, which is deep, wheezing, with expectoration only in the morning of mucus ; bloody or like pus, generally tasting sour or sweet.
Cough worse from evening till midnight.
[115] Cough caused by a limb becoming cold ; from eating or drinking any thing cold ; from cold air ; when lying in bed ; from talking, crying.
Sneezing or crying, after the attacks of cough.
Anxious wheezing breathing.
Suffocative attacks, compelling him to raise himself up and to bend the head backwards.
Wheezing in the larynx and painfulness of a small spot in the larynx.

Fetid sweat in the axilla.
Pain, as from bruises in the humeri.
Red, hot swelling of the joints of the hands and fingers.
Cold perspiration of the hands.

Tingling in the tips of the fingers.
Itching in the palms of the hands.
Steatoma at the point of the elbow.
Rough, dry, grating, cracked skin of the hands.

Lower. The hip-joint feels sore, as if sprained when walking.
Sensation of soreness in the thighs.
Swelling of the knee.
Pain, as from bruises in the knee.

Tickling in the soles of the feet.

Swelling of the feet around the ankles (with difficult breathing).
Tingling in the toes.

Sleepiness during the day (morning and evening) with spasmodic yawning.
Restless, soporous slumber, with the head bent backwards.
Starts up from sleep with the feeling as though he would suffocate.

Generalities.
Fainting (evening) from slight pains.
Rheumatic pains in the limbs and stitches in the joints.
Weakness in all the limbs ; they feel bruised.
Fever.
[165] Pulse hard, full, accelerated ; at times ; intermitting.
Chill in the evening, 6 or 7 P.M.
Chilliness and heat alternating during the day, with photophobia.
Chilliness at night ; in bed aggravating all the symptoms.
Great chilliness in the open air.
[170] Dry, burning heat, with redness of the face and violent thirst all night.
Flushes of heat with perspiration.
Profuse perspiration day and night.
Perspiration easily excited through the day, especially from exertions of the mind.
Night and morning sweat, with thirst.
[175] Cold, clammy or sour or offensively smelling perspiration.
Intermittent fever ; first chills, then thirst and, an hour later, much heat, with interrupted sleep.
Violent chill 8 P.M., with chattering of teeth ; hands and feet are cold ; followed by heat with perspiration, especially on the chest and forehead, with slight thirst.
Skin.
Inflammation, swelling and suppuration of the glands.
Caries.
[180] Erysipelatous inflammation on external parts.
Suppurations, especially after previous inflammation.
Ulcers very sensitive to contact, easily bleeding, burning or stinging, with corrosive pains.
Eruptions ; very sensitive and feeling sore when touched.
Burning-itching in the skin after scratching ; white vesicles.
[185] Nettle-rash.
Unhealthy skin ; the slightest injuries produce suppuration and ulceration.
Promotes suppuration.
Yellow skin and complexion.
Conditions.
Great sensitiveness of the affected parts to contact.
[190] Aggravation, at night ; from cold air ; from lying on the painful side ; from external pressure ; from touching the parts ; during sleep ; when swallowing food.
